The exciting new pick-up from
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles

The name Amarok comes from the Inuit language and means Wolf. Living in rugged natural landscapes, the wolf is the king of the wild: strong, powerful and perfectly suited to its environment - exactly like the Amarok, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles' first 1-tonne pick-up.

Although it has roots in the wild, the Amorak is just as comfortable in the city - its incredible pulling power matched by class-leading fuel economy.

Amarok is available in three drive configurations, ready to take you anywhere:
* Selectable 4MOTION all-wheel drive
* Permanent 4MOTION all-wheel drive
* Rear-wheel drive (single cab only)

With a choice of suspension settings:
* Heavy-duty leaf springs (on selectable 4MOTION all-wheel drive)
* Comfort leafsprings (on permanent 4MOTION all-wheel drive)

Pulling power with room to spare
With up to 400Nm of torque, the Amarok has no trouble hauling up to 2,800kg of heavy machinery, trailers, boats, caravans. It also has the widest-in-class cargo area, able to accomodate a Euro pallet, sideways.

Tackling the slopes
Thanks to slectable or permanent all-wheel-drive 4MOTION, plus Hill Holder and Hill Descent Assist, Amarok handles difficult gradients with ease.

Great on rough terrain
Amarok in the Official Organisation Vehicle for the 2010 Dakar, the world's most gruelling rally.

Control
Amarok sets the standard for safety in its class; the Electronic Stabilisation Programme (ESP), Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) and Electronic Differential Lock (EDL) giving drivers maximum control on any surface. And its Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) guarantees fast-response braking.

Fuel efficiency
The Amarok is capable of over 600 miles on a single tank, thanks to its new-generation TDI engines with common-rail injection, which deliver class-leading fuel economy.

When will it go on sale?
We'll open pre-orders in Spring 2010. The first Amarok is expected to arrive in the UK in January 2011. However, as there'll be a limited number of vehicles in the first year, to ensure you have the best chance of getting your hands on one, you'll need to register to be able to place a pre-order.
